The shelf life of fruits and vegetables and their quality depend on factors such as the temperature of the atmosphere in the storage chamber, the temperature of the fruits, the oxygen and carbon dioxide in the Chamber, as well as the inside of the fruits, the contents of ethylene in the chamber atmosphere and inside the fruits, the relative humidity of the air in the chamber.

It is recommended when laying fruit for storage:

 - to lay the fruits in the same size and commercial grade, taken in the same date or period and have the same degree of maturity.

 - to unload the fruits in the chamber for no more than 2 days.

 - the period of creation of the necessary storage conditions for the varieties susceptible to tanning should be no more than 10 days from the day the fruits starts unloading.

 - for long-term storage to use fruits taken in removable maturity in gardens or quarters, which have entered the time of commodity fruiting, with normal yield and good phytosanitary condition.
