Diphenylamine, a fungicide once used in apple storage in USA and Europe, is nowadays replaced mostly by 1-MCP. To avoid scald on Red Delicious and Granny Smith in Atmosphere-Controlled room, 1-MCP has shown a good effect and becomes a success story.
